Description
The central flower medallion of this Serapi carpet is striking and exquisitely detailed. Blue and white mesh into each other to create a dignified, leafy image. The red field is used to mirror and better contain the pattern of the carpet, as the other parts of the rug use red for outlining shapes. The corner pieces are immaculate in white designs, rigid and geometric. This contrasts with pale blue palmettes and pink florid vines in the field.
